Liffey Head Bridge & Bog

The source of the River Liffey rises in the Wicklow Mountains, underneath the peak of Kippure and Tonduff. The Liffey Head Bridge is the first bridge of many over the river before it tumbles out of Wicklow, into Kildare and ultimately winds through Dublin city, emptying into Dublin Bay. The Liffey Head Bog is a stark and beautiful blanket bog of great ecological importance. Charleen uses photography and video to capture fragments of past and present, sound and movement, dying and regrowth, connecting worldly traffic to the timelessness of space and light, flora and fauna found along the Old Military Road.
